Sorry if this is answered somewhere else, I couldn't find it.

I'm exploring the OpenXML files by unzipping them and then looking at the directory structure.  My problem is that when I rezip the files by using the Windows SendTo->Compressed folder, and rename the extension, Office applications throw errors that the file is corrupt.  Is this not a legitimate way to create files?

I appreciate any help someone can give.

Hi,

It's right,but you might have zipped the folder which contains the folders .rels,docProps,word and file [Content_Types].xml.Just zip these contents and not the folder containing them.

yes, and make sure you use ZIP Format not RAR or any other Format.
