Custom Icons for macros on Quick Access Toolbar
First, I don't even understand what XML is. I am just trying to find a way to create icons that are assigned to macros that I put on the Quick Access Bar of Word 2007/2010. I followed some pointers from an article here
http://openxmldeveloper.org/articles/CustomUIeditor.aspx?CommentPosted=true#commentmessage
and one from
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc501317%28office.11%29.aspx
and got it to work. Only problem is, I had to use Custom UI to assign the icons to a particular macro-enabled document ("Sample.docm"). Unfortunately, as soon as I close Sample.docm, the neat icons I made all disappear from all open .docx windows (am I making sense?).
It may seem like an ignorant question (and please dumb down the answer for me!) but can I make the Icons I loaded into the Custom UI editor stick to non-.docm's? Or is there another way? Maybe if I could have the sample.docm load up on startup, but only in the background where it would be invisible...(keep dreaming, huh?)
Thanks!

Hi there
Could you please provide your code that generates the icon?
