Introducing Bob McClellan as an Admin here at OpenXMLDeveloper.org

  • Comments 1

I have some happy news! Bob McClellan will be joining us as an admin here on OXD – answering questions on the forums, writing blog posts, recording screen-casts, and more. Bob has worked with Open XML for several years. At one point, he wrote an implementation of the legacy Open XML password hashing algorithm in C, which I then published on my blog. One interesting fact about that project – after Bob completed the code and turned it in for tech review, there was not one single modification needed to the code. Not one.

I worked closely with Bob on V1 of PowerTools for Open XML, and he of course did a great job. Bob did a great job on the initial implementation of DocumentBuilder, which, as you might know, is integral to the Merge-OpenXmlDocument cmdlet. In my recent rewrite of DocumentBuilder, I of course used Bob’s code as a starting point.

Bob is also known for writing some excellent MSDN articles:

Configuring SharePoint Server 2010 Search for External Content Types

Using Business Connectivity Services and Visual Studio Add-ins to Create PowerPoint Charts

Configuring SharePoint Server 2010 Search for External Content Types

Processing Documents in Bulk Using SharePoint 2010 and Open XML 2.0

We are really happy to have Bob’s help around here.

  • Welcome Bob! Good to have you with us!
